Build 5 things with Fable 5 that outlive it

By the end of this page you’ll have five permanent assets — a working tool, a prompt playbook, a context doc, reusable templates, and a decision checklist — built with Claude’s strongest model while it’s still included in paid plans. I read the announcements so you don’t have to: as of July 2026, Fable 5 is included (up to half your weekly limit) through July 12, then moves to prepaid usage credits at $10 per million input tokens and $50 per million output. Anthropic says it remains available — you just pay per use rather than having it bundled. These five builds are worth doing now because the outputs stick around after the model does.
First, check the model picker says Fable 5. Sonnet 5 is the default as of June 30, 2026, so it’s easy to run these on the wrong model.
1. The heavy build (30–60 min)
The tool you’ve been putting off. The strong model does the hard build once; cheaper models maintain it after.
Build me a complete, working [tool — e.g., budget tracker, client dashboard] as a single self-contained file I can run or open directly. Requirements: [list yours]. Ask me up to 5 questions before writing any code. Then include a short MAINTENANCE.md written for a less capable model: how it works, how to add a feature, what not to touch.
2. The playbook (15 min)
Turn your repeat tasks into templates a cheaper model can execute.
Watch how I work: here are 2-3 examples of a task I do repeatedly [paste examples]. Write a reusable prompt template — placeholders, step-by-step instructions — that a less capable model could follow to match this quality. Make it self-contained: assume the next model has zero context.
3. The context doc (10 min)
One page that makes every future AI chat start smart about you.
Interview me, one question at a time, about my work, clients, goals, tools, and preferences — max 10 questions. Then write a one-page context file I can attach to any future AI chat. Flag any facts that will age (prices, dates, job titles) so I know what to update.
4. Business templates (15 min)
The proposal, onboarding doc, or spreadsheet you rebuild every month — build it once, properly.

5. The decision checklist (15 min)
Pressure-test one real decision; keep the framework for the next ten.
I'm deciding: [decision]. Argue the strongest case FOR, then AGAINST, then attack your own reasoning for holes. Then — the part I keep — turn this into a reusable 10-point checklist for future decisions of this type, ordered by how often each factor changes the answer.

Mistakes to avoid
- Running these on the default model — the picker must say Fable 5, or you’re doing this for nothing.
- Pasting sensitive documents without redacting account numbers, salaries, and client names first.
- Burning your Fable 5 limit on ordinary chat — Sonnet 5 handles that fine; spend the strong model on builds.
One honest limitation: Fable 5 is a better builder, not a mind reader. If the examples you paste are thin, your playbook and templates will be thin too — give it your real, messy versions.
These five prompts work on any strong model; Fable 5 just does them best right now. When it returns to subscriptions or the next frontier model drops, this page gets updated — not replaced.
