The Batch Day Runbook

The most consistent creators I studied don’t film daily — they film once and post daily. One creator produces her entire week (including ~20 short videos) in a single day, then lets scheduling tools drain the queue. Here’s that system, sized for a normal human: 3 hours → 5-7 videos → a week of posting. Free, no signup, ever.
Before batch day (30 min, the night before)
- Scripts finalized — 5-7 of them, from your calendar (/r/calendar), each ~180 words, printed or on a tablet in LARGE text. Batch day is for performing, not writing.
- Keywords/CTAs confirmed — every “comment WORD” automation already exists (/r/manychat).
- One outfit decision. (Or two tops if you want visual variety between “days” — the studied creators shot multiple “days” of content in one afternoon exactly this way.)
- Phone: charged, storage cleared, airplane mode.
The session (3 hours)
- :00–:15 — setup. One location, window light or a ring light, phone at eye level, test clip to check framing and audio. Your set never changes during the session — resetting between videos is where batch days die.
- :15–2:00 — film everything back to back. Per script: read it once aloud cold, then record. Two full takes max, then move on — take 3 is never better, it’s just slower. Flub a line? Pause two seconds and repeat the sentence; that’s what jump cuts are for. Say the script’s last line, then immediately the next script’s first line while you’re warm.
- 2:00–2:15 — break. Real one. Off camera.
- 2:15–3:00 — B-roll and covers. Screen recordings for every “look at this” moment in your scripts, then 3-4 cover-photo options shot in 5 minutes (mid-gesture, expressive — the frames that read as thumbnails).
After (separate session — never edit on filming day)
Edit all videos in one sitting using your template (/r/edit); captions and covers from the same template; schedule the week in your posting tool; keywords live → done.
The three rules that keep batch day working
- Done beats perfect. Batch day’s enemy is the retake spiral. Your audience watches on a phone at 1.5x with the sound sometimes off — they will not notice what you’re retaking for.
- Never break the chain of setup. Everything that CAN be decided before filming, IS.
- Protect the slot. Same afternoon every week, treated like a client meeting. Miss it and you’re back to daily-scramble posting, which is the thing consistency was supposed to kill.
